Data Dungeon Function

What it does
The Data Dungeon function allows you to archive files that you don’t need for immediate use by "dungeoning" them. These files are removed from your file/folder organization but still fully accessible within Starling. This function is used when you’re done with certain data, but expect a need to find it back in the future.

You can also "de-dungeon" them back into active use whenever needed.

How it helps
This tool helps maintain a clean and clutter-free workspace by removing unnecessary files from view while still retaining easy access to them. It’s perfect for archiving older projects, completed tasks, or documents you might need later but don’t want cluttering your daily workflow.

How to Dungeon

  1. Select the file you want to archive.
  2. Click the drop-down next to the "Track" button.
  3. Choose the option to Data-dungeon it.

Once dungeoned, the file/folder will no longer appear in your file/folder tree structure.

How to De-dungeon:

  1. Go to the Work Activity or Graph discovery view within Starling.
  2. Search for the dungeoned file you want to retrieve using keywords or a certain date.
  3. Open the file's Details.
  4. Select Continue Working to initiate the dedungeon process.
  5. After confirming the location where you'd like to save the file, it will be restored to your active workspace and ready for use again.

This ensures that archived files are easily accessible whenever you need them, maintaining a balance between an uncluttered workspace and seamless file retrieval.
